Università degli Studi di MilanoThe University of Milan is a public, multi-disciplinary teaching and research institution that offers 9 faculties, 134 study courses (divided between 1st and 2nd level degree programmes), 19 Doctoral Schools and 92 Specialisation Schools. The 2,500 professors represent the highest concentration of scientific expertise in the region and its research is ranked among the best in Italy and Europe. The University’s departments are housed in important historic edifices in the centre of Milan and modern buildings in the area known as Città Studi.
The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery is the home of higher training in the biomedical and health field; it operates from the view of training, integrating research and health aid with this, aimed at reaching and maintaining the highest quality levels. The Faculty trains the various professionals working in the health sphere (public and private). The teaching offer is divided into degree courses, two-year specialisation courses, two-year specialisation courses in a single cycle, doctorate schools, research doctorates, specialisation schools, university master courses and post-graduate courses. The Faculty has separate teaching centres through the Milan area and Lombardy; there are both public and private accredited health structures inside each teaching centre where the most of the training of the students attending the Faculty courses takes place.
